TEAM and Senior Editor Bob Kanner provided editorial and finishing services for “Anatomy of a Pandemic” which aired December 14th on PBS stations nationwide.

Producer Larry Klein relied on TEAM and Kanner’s expertise for handling the timely subject matter and the nine-week turnaround to delivery that the program required. The result was an exceptional documentary and impressive national ratings.

 Yoo Hoo Mrs. Goldberg is a beautifully crafted documentary written, produced, and directed by Aviva Kempner. This humorous independent film tells the story of the successful 1920s radio show, The Goldbergs, which crossed over to the new medium of television and became one of the industry’s first hit series. The family matriarch, Molly Goldberg, was a captivatingly genuine character whose persona appealed to all working-class Americans.

The documentary was sound designed and mixed by TeamCreations’, Skip SoRelle, who relates “like all successful filmmakers, Aviva Kempner understands the importance of sound to help tell the story. Her passion for sound was demonstrated most clearly when she offered to go into the booth and foley some of the human sound elements herself.”

Spirit Creative created a 30-second animated spot for the 2008 Silverdocs Film Festival, which runs from the 16th through the 23rd of June. The spot will play before films at the AFI Theater, at theaters in New York, Chicago and LA, as well as on Comcast. A link to the festival is below.

2008 Silverdocs Film Festival

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of leading a sound design seminar in New York City at the Manhattan Producer's Alliance, AKA ManHatPro. I joined the Manhattan Producer's Alliance to interact with and share ideas with peers. I believe in the idea of community and wanted a way to contribute to the conversation and knowledge-base of that community. New York is also an important center for sound innovators, which makes which makes the location exciting for me. I love teaching at seminars. They give me a chance to organize my thoughts into a cohesive presentation that actually leads to much more learning on my part than any of the students are likely to get! This particular seminar focused on the story-telling aspect of sound design, in the context of music, theater and film. I played historic examples of ground-breaking sound techniques and concepts and pointed out a kind of lineage of sound. As they say, you need to know where you've been, before you know where you're going. I think the success of the seminar was largely due to the curiosity of the attendees. They were willing to listen -- which is the first thing you learn to do if you want to make sound.

There will be a screening of The Morgan Lacrosse Story on Tuesday March 11th, 2008 at 7pm at Morgan State University in Baltimore. The Morgan Lacrosse Story is produced and directed by Team's own Luke David. Come check out this amazing story of courage. The film will also air on PBS in April!

This is a short excerpt of the film that I mixed for Rachel Goslins. It has been accepted for showing at the SXSW film festival in Austin, TX and the Atlanta FIlm Festival. A PDF of the press kit is also attached FYI.

Robin Smith's new documentary, "Come Walk In My Shoes", will have a free screening on February 23rd. This is the documentary Bob Kanner recently did the online and color correct for. "Come Walk In My Shoes" will air locally on February 13th at 8pm on WHUT.

"Come Walk in My Shoes" is an award-winning documentary that follows the Honorable John Lewis on an emotional pilgrimage to the churches, parks and bridges where young people played a pivotal role in the struggle for equality and voting rights. At each location, Lewis reflects on his experiences and provides a forum for others - "the unsung heroes who cared deeply, sacrificed much, and fought hard for a better America" - to help us understand what happened, and why it happened. The film provides a fresh, first-person perspective on the non-violent protests that challenged segregation laws in the South and led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965.

Thanks to WHUT and American Public Television, Come Walk in My Shoes began airing on public television in February 2008! Contact your local PBS station to find out when it is scheduled to be shown in your area.

Primary funding for the documentary was provided by The Chrysler Foundation and Daimler North America with additional support from Freddie Mac, Mortgage Insurance Companies of America, and The Nathan Cummings Foundation.

In this promo for "Living w/ the Mek: The Adventures of Mark & Olly", producer Amelia Fogarty from the Travel Channel has used these 3 things to highlight the differences between western culture and that of the ancient Mek Tribe in West Papua - while still acknowledging our commonalities. This promo was cut here at Team in the Travel Channel pod using Final Cut Pro. The series premiere is Sunday February 10th @ 10pm e/p on the Travel Channel.

I stumbled upon this video a few months ago. This Latin Rock band, from Uruguay, is one of my favorites. Once you watch this you will see why. What I like about this video is how the artist used typography to illustrate the lyrics of the song. Very simple look.  Hope you all enjoy this!

Team had a Company Picnic in August at Smoky Glenn Farms in Maryland.  Although it was a hot day it was fun for all and A LOT of food.
